Project Manager (Full-time)

Our client’s Project Management Office (PMO) seeks a dedicated Project Manager to join their team in Leiden. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for advancing healthcare and pharmaceutical development. This role offers the opportunity to excel in a dynamic preclinical stage environment, where your project management skills will directly contribute to the development of innovative therapies. Candidates should be motivated by challenges in project coordination and risk management, and possess strong communication skills to foster collaboration within diverse teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop aligned, integrated operational plans in line with corporate strategy to achieve product objectives.
- Facilitate cross-functional activities of project teams to achieve milestones within scope, time, and budget.
- Create deliverable/KPI trackers for Senior Management reporting.
- Establish project risk trackers with mitigation plans for pre-clinical and development projects.
- Lead preparation of short- and long-term plans aligned with corporate strategy and objectives.
- Define critical paths and decision points.
- Provide updates to Senior Management on deliverables status and flag risks, opportunities, and budget changes.
- Ensure project operational strategy aligns with corporate objectives.
- Facilitate project teams by addressing flagged changes, risks, and opportunities.
- Organize and facilitate project team and program meetings.
- Develop meeting tools and templates.
- Monitor project budget status and prepare financial reports.
- Coordinate budget rounds for R&D project teams and serve as key contact person for finance.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Applied Science; advanced scientific degree preferred (e.g., MS, PharmD, Ph.D.) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of pharma/biotech project management experience with proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project).
- Strong knowledge of drug development processes and regulations (GxP’s).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Demonstrated ability to manage scope, time, and costs of projects effectively.
- Strategic thinking and innovative problem-solving abilities.
- Expert planning and tracking skills with the capability to manage multiple projects.
- High level of initiative, ability to work independently, and self-motivated.
- Understanding of basic financial aspects including resource planning and management.
- Ability to build relationships at all organizational levels and drive organizational engagement.
- Excellent communication (oral, written, presentation), analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing organizational needs.
