Analytical Scientist (Full-time)

Location: Leiden, NL

Our client’s Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Control (CMC) department are seeking an analytical scientist to join their team. The CMC department plays a pivotal role within the organization, focusing on the development, manufacturing, and characterization of oligonucleotides and therapeutic formulations for research, clinical development, and commercialization.

The Role: The Scientist Analytical will support the in-house activities of the Analytical team within the CMC department. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with other analysts/scientists in an interdisciplinary team environment to advance activities related to oligonucleotide production, formulation, and analysis. Responsibilities include:

• Development and validation of analytical methods
• Troubleshooting analytical methods
• Formulation development
• Writing technical protocols and reports
• Planning activities to meet project milestones
• Preparation or revision of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities
• General laboratory activities such as equipment maintenance and inventory management
• Training and supervision of team/projects
• Designing, leading, and executing scientific studies

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• PhD with 1-3 years of experience or Master’s degree with at least 7 years of experience
• Experience with analytical techniques such as UPLC or HPLC, mass spectrometry, DLS, absorbance, or fluorescence-based assays, compendial methods
• Experience working with lipid-based formulations
• Strong laboratory skills and attention to detail
• Experience with statistics
