Analytical Scientist (Full-time)
Location: Leiden, NL
Our client’s Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Control (CMC) department are seeking an analytical scientist to join their team. The CMC department plays a pivotal role within the organization, focusing on the development, manufacturing, and characterization of oligonucleotides and therapeutic formulations for research, clinical development, and commercialization.
The Role: The Scientist Analytical will support the in-house activities of the Analytical team within the CMC department. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with other analysts/scientists in an interdisciplinary team environment to advance activities related to oligonucleotide production, formulation, and analysis. Responsibilities include:
- Development and validation of analytical methods
- Troubleshooting analytical methods
- Formulation development
- Writing technical protocols and reports
- Planning activities to meet project milestones
- Preparation or revision of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities
- General laboratory activities such as equipment maintenance and inventory management
- Training and supervision of team/projects
- Designing, leading, and executing scientific studies
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- PhD with 1-3 years of experience or Master’s degree with at least 7 years of experience
- Experience with analytical techniques such as UPLC or HPLC, mass spectrometry, DLS, absorbance, or fluorescence-based assays, compendial methods
- Experience working with lipid-based formulations
- Strong laboratory skills and attention to detail
- Experience with statistics
